There’s never been a love story more classic: he saw her smile light up one end of the room. She couldn’t take her eyes off the pink booty shorts he wore to rehearsal.

It’s no surprise that a bond forged on laughter (like the crying/can’t breathe kind of laughter) and nerdy-but-interesting conversation was formed.

For years, they did the things they loved together; curling up with the Netflix fireplace channel and a stack of books, settling in for a day of movie marathons and snacking, and getting really, really into the latest video game (just ask them about Baldur’s Gate 3). They also introduced each other to new things, like when Greg invited Larissa into the world of sports and in particular, a love of the Chicago Cubs. She’s made great strides in her understanding of professional baseball, and can name at least three current Cubs players and discern when the pitcher is, indeed, a belly itcher.

In return, Larissa showed Greg the joys of fine dining, and one of their favorite activities together is trying new restaurants and strange ingredients. One thing Larissa says is her favorite about Greg is how happily he leaps into new experiences- whether it’s trying takoyaki or learning about a new concept. She says she knew it was love when she realized she loved listening to him read the news.

This continued until the day they realized that every single thing in life- joy, hardship, or just the mundane day to day- was better when they were together. Greg even once said that waiting in lines was enjoyable when Larissa was with him.

Now, they communicate mostly in Futurama quotes and still snort-laugh at each other’s jokes.
